This hose complies with SAE J517 / EN 853, type 2SN (equivalent to SAE 100R2AT), designed for high-pressure hydraulic systems. The 1-inch size corresponds to a 25 mm inner diameter with a working pressure of 300 bar (30 MPa), covering the typical 280–350 bar range found in excavator main circuits with adequate margin. The reinforcement consists of two layers of high-tensile steel wire braid, delivering a 4:1 safety factor (burst pressure ≥1200 bar). The inner tube is oil-resistant synthetic rubber (NBR), and the outer cover is abrasion- and weather-resistant synthetic rubber, rated for -40 °C to +100 °C.
The two-layer steel wire braid in 2SN provides far superior pulse resistance compared to the single-layer braid of 1SN. Quality 2SN hoses withstand over 1 million pulse cycles without failure. The thick outer cover (as opposed to the thin-wall R2ATS variant) offers better abrasion and impact resistance, making it ideal for the vibration, bending, and harsh conditions of excavator boom, swing, and travel main circuits. The 300 bar rating matches excavator main system pressure exactly and is the standard choice for both OEM and aftermarket worldwide.
Never bend the hose below 230 mm (approximately 9× the outer diameter). Bending must start at least 2× the tube diameter away from the fitting — no sharp bends. Under pressure the hose shortens by 3–4%, so never install it taut; always leave allowance. If the printed markings on the hose body appear distorted or twisted, the hose is already torqued, which accelerates wire braid fatigue and must be corrected. Use crimp-type orbitex fittings or flare fittings — never nut-type connections, as vibration will cause loosening. Inspect regularly for outer cover cracking, bulging, fitting leaks, or exposed/corroded wire braid. Replace immediately if any of these are found.
