The SAE 100R1 hose adopts a single-layer high-tensile steel wire cross braided structure, with the braiding angle controlled between 45° and 60°. The overall structure is similar to chainmail, where the steel wires are nested with each other to form a single force-bearing layer, making the overall wall thickness of the hose thinner.
The SAE 100R2 hose features a double-layer high-tensile steel wire interlaced braided structure. The two layers of steel wires are braided in opposite directions, with a special isolation rubber layer added in the middle to form a double-layer force protection system, which significantly improves the overall rigidity of the hose wall.
Under the same bore size specification, the rated working pressure of the SAE 100R2 hose is about twice that of the R1 hose. The 1/4 inch bore R2 hose can reach a working pressure of 40MPa, far higher than the 22.5MPa of the same specification R1 hose. All products in the full series also meet the 4:1 safety factor requirement.
Under working conditions with frequent pressure shocks, the cross braided steel wires of the R1 hose will rub against each other repeatedly, and long-term shear movement is likely to cause fatigue fracture of the steel wires. In contrast, the double-layer braided structure of R2 greatly disperses the pulse stress, and its pulse cycle resistance life is 3 to 5 times that of the R1 hose, which is fully adapted to heavy-duty dynamic hydraulic scenarios.
The SAE 100R1 hose has a minimum bend radius that is only 60% of that of the R2 hose with the same bore size. It is lighter in weight and extremely low in piping routing difficulty, which can easily complete complex pipeline layout inside equipment with limited space and achieve higher installation efficiency.
Due to the stronger rigidity of the double-layer steel wire structure, the SAE 100R2 hose has a larger minimum bend radius, requiring a larger reserved operation space during installation. Its routing flexibility in compact space scenarios is significantly weaker than that of the R1 hose.
The SAE 100R1 hose is suitable for conventional working conditions with medium pressure, stable pressure and no frequent shocks. It is widely used in auxiliary oil circuits of small hydraulic stations, forklifts and agricultural machinery, and has extremely high cost performance in scenarios with low pulse frequency.
The SAE 100R2 hose is specially designed for heavy-duty scenarios with medium-high pressure and high pulse. It is the standard configuration product for the main oil circuits of loaders, excavators and the hydraulic power circuits of construction vehicles. It can greatly reduce the risk of hose burst failure in key hydraulic systems that run continuously for a long time.
