API 7K Top Drive Rotary Hose is a high-pressure flexible conveying pipe specially designed for the top drive system of oil drilling. It strictly complies with
API 7K drilling equipment specifications, accurately matching the core specifications of 3.5-inch ID, 5000psi rated working pressure, and 75ft (about 22.86m) length. Equipped with safety chains and clamps at both ends, 4-inch Fig1003 hammer unions, at least four reinforcement layers, and FSL 1 flexibility level, it can operate stably within the temperature range of -20°C to 100°C. (2) Core Structure and Material
- Inner Layer Material: Made of special synthetic rubber (such as NBR nitrile rubber or HNBR hydrogenated nitrile rubber) that is oil-resistant, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant to drilling media. The material is dense and smooth with strong impermeability, which can effectively prevent leakage of drilling mud, hydraulic oil and other media, reduce medium flow resistance, resist scouring and wear by cuttings and sand in the medium, extend the service life of the hose, and adapt to the complex medium transmission needs of top drive operations.
- Reinforcement Layer Structure: Wound or braided with at least 4 layers of high-strength steel wire, using high-toughness, tensile-resistant and fatigue-resistant aviation-grade steel wire, processed by precision winding technology. It can stably withstand 5000psi high pressure, and with a design safety factor of 2.5, the burst pressure is sufficient. It can effectively disperse the high pressure and vibration borne by the pipe body, avoid pipe bulging and breaking caused by high-frequency vibration and pressure fluctuation in top drive operations, and adapt to FSL 1 flexibility level to meet the bending and rotation needs of normal top drive operations.
- Outer Layer Material: Made of special synthetic rubber (such as CR chloroprene rubber) that is wear-resistant, weather-resistant, impact-resistant and UV-resistant, added with anti-aging and anti-ozone additives. It can resist mechanical friction, rock impact, UV radiation and marine salt spray erosion at the drilling site, protect the inner layer and reinforcement layer from damage, and has certain antistatic performance to eliminate potential safety hazards in drilling operations, adapting to complex drilling environments such as onshore and offshore.
- Joint and Safety Configuration: 4-inch Fig1003 hammer unions are equipped at both ends. The union is a misaligning design, which can achieve a maximum total misalignment adjustment of 15°, adapting to the working conditions where the pipelines are not easy to align in top drive operations. The rated pressure meets the 7500psi test pressure requirement, adopting metal-to-metal seal with O-ring auxiliary seal, with excellent sealing performance, which can be quickly connected and disassembled to improve operation efficiency. The joint and pipe body are connected by swaging process, combined with integral or welded male & female hammer union couplings, which are firmly connected without loosening, preventing medium leakage. Safety chains and clamps are matched at both ends. The safety chains are made of galvanized steel wire with a diameter of not less than 10mm, combined with clamps with 8.8-grade bolts and grade 8 or above nuts, which can effectively fix the hose joint, prevent joint detachment, and further improve operation safety.
